Chad, I can't imagine how anyone even one younger than myself can do so many reps of anything. Great work.

That seems to be the pattern. It's like I need to get my confidence. Or maybe it takes that first rep to get all my muscle fibers firing.

Default 2019/01/14 -- intensity press, volume bench

    Press:
    137.5x4+f +1
    137.5x3

That was a weird failure. The left side of my body did fine, but the right side just didn't want to cooperate. I rested for a long 20-count after my failure before getting the extra rep.

Then I was angry with myself for not getting the fifth rep and did a set of 3 after a short rest.

    Bench press:
    217.5x5
    217.5x5
    217.5x5
    217.5x5
    217.5x5

A PR of sorts. When I was doing this TM-style programming a year ago, 215 was the best I got for 5x5.

    Dips:
    6-minute EMOM
    6x5

Good work. That deadlift sticking just below the knee, I watched it several times and can't really figure what was different. it looks like you drifted forward a bit but that might be a result of sticking, not the cause. Did it feel different?

Well, in this case, the left side came up more quickly than the right side, which freaked me out a little bit. That's the first time this has ever happened, though.

Default 2019/01/17 -- intensity bench, volume press

    Bench press:
    240x3+f
    240x2+f

Not a good day here. I was hoping for 240x5. After the failure, I tried for 2x3, but I probably didn't give myself enough rest.

This was a crappy week for both bench and press. I may give this week another shot next week.

    Press:
    125x5
    125x5
    125x5
    125x5
    125x5

At least I got all my sets here.

    Dips:
    3xAMRAP: 12/13/10

Default 2019/01/19 -- light squats, heavy deadlifts

    starting strength coach development program
Life intervened yesterday, so I did last night's workout this morning.

    Squats:
    260x3x5

    2 minutes rest, beltless.

    Deadlifts:
    365x5
    315x5
    315x5

The plan was to go for 400x5, but my last warmup single at 365 was much harder than it should have been, so I lowered my expectations. Of course, my first work rep at 365 felt lighter than I expected, but I still don't think I had 400x5 in me. I'll try for 400 next week.
