    You may have addressed this before but how has your strength training affected your violin playing? Both of my sons played violin through elementary and high school but stopped after college. Maybe if I can get them into strength training they will pick up the violin again. I think my attempt is fruitless but I'm still curious.

    I haven’t seen much direct effect. My hands are definitely stronger so I don’t have any trouble trilling with my little finger, as I used to. I also have a better sense of what my body is doing, so my posture is better.

    One thing I do see on violinist websites is that violinists are concerned about repetitive stress injuries and putting their shoulders in a weak or stressful position. I have to chuckle when I see what they suggest for strengthening their muscles.

    One might also expect, if one had no actual experience, that lifting heavy would make my fingers slow. I think I’m faster now than I have ever been.
