    ...when I woke up and got on the scale at 208.2 was like ^^^^^^

    No grinds whatsoever. Good bar speed and short rest (approx 1m) between reps.

    Not all out but probs rpe 9 so I rested 5m between sets.

    Really lose steam big time on sets across, even with long rest. Ended up having a 15m rest before set 5.


    ...there is little that's more peaceful than moving some iron with the garage doors open during a heavy rain and wind storm. Bonus that the kid finally decided to take a long nap today!

    Fast. Finally felt like a medium squat. Easiest squat session for sure since starting this program a month ago. I'm confident that my theory that I was grinding too much and under recovered is correct.

    Deadlift
    +5, +5 370x1, 300x5
    Felt very heavy and grindy. In reality, prob moved about the same speed as 365 last week. Backoff was not nearly as difficult as single. Looking way ahead here, but damn it would be awesome if I could run my single high enough to where I set a 5rm (currently 320) with a backoff set.

    5th rep serious grind but not quite as grindy as 4th rep was last week.

    Was a little worried about today bc of lack of sleep - got my usual 4.5-5 hrs Mon and Tues night, but I stayed up til 11:30 last night to watch the Mets lose whereas I'm typically in bed by 8:30-9:00 on Weds night.

    Singles were moving so well, and on short rest, that I decided to double the 5th set. It wasn't even much of a grind at all. Almost went for a 3rd rep but decided to leave enough gas in the tank for bench and chin. I may just go for 3 doubles next week at 132.5!

    1st 2 sets moved pretty decent on 5m rest, but my son woke up while I was resting for 3rd set, had to cut rest a min or 2 short and crank it out, and it was a grind.

    Felt medium. Form dialed in, especially on the second set.

    Deadlift

    Warm-ups at 315 and 345 felt very good - better than usual, and was expecting/hoping/trying to pull 375 a little quicker than the last 2 weeks. Damn, it was a grind, even more-so than 65 and 70, which felt very close to 1rm's. I'm getting close enough to 4 to start to taste it, but I have some doubt in the back of my mind about being able to hold on that long. I'm going to eat like a maniac and not go down without a fight. Back-off was challenging, but not nearly as hard as single. Pulling these heavy singles has definitely trained my mind what a heavy deadlift really feels like, as while my 5th reps of the fives feel very heavy, they aren't nearly as straining as locking out the single.

    5th rep may have been red lighted in a meet bc I'm about 65% sure it came to a complete stop, but I stuck with it and locked it out.

    First set was so surprisingly ridiculously easy that I may have had it for 8 if I wanted. Completed thru set 4 on 4m rest without struggle. Son woke up and had to wait 15m before set 5. Not sure where this is coming from given what a grind volume press was from like 110-114, but I'll take it. I'm only a few lbs away from 5rm territory. Getting stronger is fun.

    Top set lost a little speed but nothing grindy. Backoff sets absolutely flew.
