Friday's session pushed to Saturday. Sleep has been pretty bad lately and was really bad last night. Completely exhausted coming into this session.

2-3 mins between sets. A little challenging but moved well.
Press starts + strict press (supersets)

Only rest between the 2 movements was the annoying task of loading and unloading the plates. Used the big plates this time so it was like a 3 lb jump from last week.
Approximately a 0.0% chance I was staying awake for squats after all this.

Cluster of a session. Goal was to work keep going up on singles until I failed. Figured I'd be good for at least a small PR @167.5. Took me a few extra sets of failing to hit my backoff goal of 150x3x3. Groove started to feel a little better so I tried going back to singles to mo avail.

Late start and was completely exhausted so I didn't squat. Was difficult to force myself into the garage at all instead of my bed.
Light/prep week next week then hopefully a press and deadlift PR after that!!

Got a halfway decent night of sleep last night after a week or so of terrible sleep and constant exhaustion.

160 absolutely flew. Only 5 lb off my PR so that's a positive heading into next week. I would be thrilled with 170+

So the plan was that if I made my PR @167.5 I would go for 170-75 depending how it moved. Felt great so I went for 175 and SMOKED it. Super clean rep. Decided I had to take advantage of what I had in the tank and went for 180. It was grindy and the bar very slightly made a downward movement about halfway up the rep so I suppose it still counts as a gym PR since I locked it out. Superrrrrr stoked how my presses went. Didn't know if 175 was even in the cards for a lifetime PR given my past struggles with this lift.

415 would have been a +5 lb PR but it only budged about an inch. Slightly strained my left hammy wrestling with the kids yesterday morning. Was hoping it wouldn't be a factor today but I'm pretty sure it was. Really wanted to pull something in the 425-440 range but oh well, wasn't meant to be.
Time to transition to summer programming which is basically minimum dose to maintain strength the best I can so I'm ready to hit the ground running again in the fall.
