    Wed 2/27/17 (L)

    squat: 3x5x305
    press: 3x3x203
    chins @ 53 lbs. - 5/5/5/5/5

I somehow managed to pull my left quad a bit on the second set of press. Hmmm. Off to the orthopedist tomorrow morning for MRI discussion.

    Sat 3/4/2017 (H)

    squat: 3x3x390
    bench: 3x2x307.5
    deadlift: 3x465

The results are in: torn medial meniscus and frayed cartilage. Laproscopy this coming Friday.

Sorry to hear, man. Good to get a diagnosis though.

Thanks, Russ. Yeah, it's what I suspected all along. I just hope the arthroscopy (not laparoscopy, apparently) is simple and recovery isn't too long. Meanwhile:

    Tues 3/7/17 (L)

    squat: 3x5x305
    press: 3x5x188
    bw chins: 10/10/10/8/8/4

As the press goes up it's taking more out of me, and chins are suffering as a result.

    Th 3/9/17 (M)

    squat: 3x5x335
    pause bench: 3x5x255
    rdl: 2x8x365

Last workout for a bit. Knee surgery tomorrow. Yay, I guess.

    Sun 3/19/17 (First workout post-surgery)

Airdyne - easy 5 minutes to warm up

    deadlift: 5x135, 5x185, 5x225
These all felt very easy, but I'm staying verrry conservative on anything using the knees. I did bump my stitches a couple of times with the bar, so perhaps I'll use the knee sleeves on deadlift until I get them out.

    squat: 3x5x45, 1x5x95, 3x5x135
Also fine. Should try 185 next, perhaps on Monday. Squat will probably be the lift that lags the most.

    bench: 3x6x267.5
The knees are static on bench, so I just started the current cycle over.

I'm optimistic. Everything felt pretty good.

Yeah! Good stuff. Glad you're hacking away at it again.

Thanks, Russ. Not nearly as long a layoff as I'd feared.

    Mon 3/20/17

squat: 3x5x185 (still no knee pain, so up we go)
    deadlift: 1x5x275
    bw chins: 10/10/10/9/8/3

1 day off now, then up to 225 squats and 315 on deadlift. If all goes well I should have regained lost ground by the end of next week.

    Wed 3/22/17

squat: 3x5x225 (very easy; no pain)
press @ 188: 5/5/4/1 (sloppy form throughout; repeat weight)
    deadlift: 1x5x315 (no sweat)

Onward and upward. 275 squats and 365 deadlift on Friday.

Way to go. Good luck with the recovery.
