Tough session. Very first set of squat felt difficult, but I managed to thump out all five sets, at the expense of tearing a little quad however. On the fourth rep of set 4 I felt that errie sensation of “paper tearing” in my quad up close to my knee. I shook it off after the set, inspected it, and although quite sore, I figured it was good for one more set. I managed the fifth set( which I recorded) under the blanket of caution for a new volume/ tonnage PR. Man, PRs are getting hard to come by. Couldn’t really incorporate much leg drive into my incline Press, but still managed. Rack pulls were difficult, although I think this was mainly due to me not using the straps correctly, not the quad.

Quad was somewhat of an issue, but really felt good and warmed up on the final set, so that’s good. Press felt pretty good for not using any sort of stretch reflex. Ordered me some wrists wraps, which will hopefully help with my strict press. Probably won’t work for the 2.0 since I kinda have to bend my wrists back in order to get the bar in a front rack( which is what I prefer when pressing 2.0/Olympic), but I may play around with them and see what happens.

Squats are finally feeling a bit fresher. Think the fatigue is wearing off from pushing the volume so hard and heavy. A couple of reps were somewhat ugly, and the quad injury up close to the knee popped up to say high, but I’m pretty confident that I have triples for at least a couple more weeks, which puts me at PR territory. Haltings felt stale, this often happens as a result of pulling a big DL the week prior.

I actually did about 6 sets of snatches, but only racked probably 3 sets efficiently. The rest were pretty soft racks, so I’m not counting them. Missed several reps. Think that I may need to invest in some bumper plates before going any heavier than this, although I still control the miss pretty well, it’s still not ideal with iron plates on the bar. As much as I hate them, think I’m going back to Rows for a while.

Added another light press day. Also probably going to increase my medium 2.0 day to 4 sets as well. Moarrrrr volume!
