Was really wanting to get the big press PR tonight with 160x5x3, but not this time. The weight was actually more like 161, because I had to use the spring collars( it was really humid outside and the plates slid off of the sleeves at my 115 warmup), which weigh close to a pound for the both of them. After missing the first set, I took a couple of pounds off and messed with my technique some, still only yielded 4 reps, and I went on to do another set of 4. I’ll start with this load fresh on Sunday and see if I can manage some fives. I’m about to put together a press specialization program, I’m pretty sure that I’m going have to do more than just press to keep it going up at this point. Hopefully my pec will act right for the assistance stuff, we’ll see. Did one set of Rows, and I was like “ fuck these”. Opted to do some light power cleans. I haven’t attempted power cleans since running my novice LP over two years ago. Surprised how good my rack was. I have really long forearms, so I aligned my pinky up a little outside the 32” score mark. Some things to work on, but I think I’m going to run them as my medium day pull for a while, unless they prove to be more trouble than they are worth.
