Carson, how do you choke down that much protein?

I eat eggs, chicken, add a protein drink to every shot of coffee. And struggle to hit 250, more like 200 most days.

Iíve not done the blender chicken shakes (yuck).

    Are you using protein powder?

Most of my days range from 150 to 225 grams. But every few days I get over that number. What amazes me is the fairly reasonable number of calories that go with it.

My wife makes a high-protein casserole with eggs, sausage, cheese, and cottage cheese (1400 calories and 240 gr of protein). Sometimes I'll grab a baconator at Wendy's which, while fairly high in calories (over 900) it is also high in protein (82). I usually drink at least 2 whey protein shakes and one or two protein bars.

I'm not losing as I'd hoped. I seem to be stuck at 209 lbs. but I hope to keep my strength which has been on a slow decline since 2020. I keep having to remind myself that I will be 76 in a few days which may have something to do with it. I enjoy lifting but I seriously dislike not having PRs.

BTW Chicken shake???? Sounds like something the devil dreamed up.

Chicken shakes is something Chase Lindley did, Iíve never tried - yuck.
Sounds like we both eat protein the old fashioned way.
Good luck with the weight loss.

    I wish PR = weight x age
    That would be great, ha!

Well, I should have been weighing myself more frequently. I seem to have gained weight. I'm going to simply walk more and eat less and not count calories or protein. I'm too old to be overly worried about this. I'm going to try to keep my weight under 215 and be happy.

To get back on track, at least with deadlifts, I'm lifting heavy deads first on Medium days. So far, not much has changed.

    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 275 x 1; 300 x 1; 317.5 x 0
    Bench: 95 x 5; 115 x 3; 125 x 1; 130 x 3; 114 x 8 x 2
    Squat: 70 x 5 (P); 120 x 3; 160 x 1; 180 x 1; 187 x 3 x 2

I'm taking it easy for a few days on the OHP to see how the minor rotator cuff surgery goes that I had last Tuesday. Monday I'll ease back into it.
