All members of our elder son and his wife are athletic. My son Christian loves basketball and soccer and plays and coaches both. He runs an occasional half marathon as well. His wife, Kelly, has run over 60 marathons and has a business coaching other runners. Their son, Micah, age 13, runs, runs runs, and wins many races. He loves basketball and soccer. Reid, age 11, runs and wins often. Loves basketball and soccer Their daughter Gemma, age 9, loves gymnastics, dance, and basketball. They usually keep Grandpa and Grandma very busy,

I had my first set of knee jell injections on Thursday. Sully was cautious not to put too much strain on my knees so i did not do any heavy squats or deadlifts.

    Air Squats: 5 x 3
    Press: 45 x 5 x 3; 65 x 3; 75 x 3 x 2; 85 x 3; 95 x 1 x 1; 100 x 1 x 1; 104 x 1; 73 x 8 x 2; 5 x 1 Mostly working on form. I don't know if I'll ever get this right.
    Prowler: 120 x 4 x 3. (PR)

She's now 43 and has run in Boston three times, NY, London, Berlin each once and has run in 44 of the 50 states. I ran (sort of) two marathons in my late 30s early 40s. After 12 years of running I stopped and got fat, Then found Starting Strength when I reach 66. It's good.

HLM Medium but with heavy Deadlifts. I'm hoping to lift 375 by mid-November and lift 380 by the November 25 meeting honoring John Claassen.

    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 300 x 1; 320 x 1; 333.5 x 1; 272.5 x 3 For the top lift I played Bach's "Tacota and Fugue in D Minor" That always works.
    Press: 45 x 5; 65 x 3; 85 x 1; 92 x 3; 77 x 8 x 2
    Squat: 70 x 5 (P); 130 x 3; 180 x 1; 206 x 2; 206 x 3 Fear creeps in from time to time. Hence, the 2. So, I put on Queen's "We Will Rock You" and the second 3 went easily.

Fear is my biggest enemy on the Squat. Musical destruction is very helpful.
