You are very kind. I love Coach Sully and Frank his assistant. We even love to clean the gym and care for the plants and equipment maintenance twice a week. I hope to do more than one competition this coming year. We will see. Keep up the good work.

    A middling day:

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 200 x 1; 225 x 1; 241 x 2 x 2; 100 x 5 x 2 (paused)
    Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 144 x 2 x 2
    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1; 326 x 1; 355 x 1 bar drifted a bit from my left leg. I did not try 375.

Someday I will be able to tolerate a hook grip for even top weights. Until then I do the reverse grip on top weight. Too often I let the bar drift on the left side when I do. It really is a matter of concentration.

Still, my deadlift is at the elite level for someone my age. That makes me smile.

When I start talking myself out of doing my workout I think "somewhere Carson is pulling 375". And I get after it.

Good! Retirement doesn't leave many options for doing something good. I'm glad I can do this. 375, I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it.

I can really relate to the words of retirement and doing something of value.

Light day which allowed me to continue to recover from stomach flu. Also, to check for occasional dizziness Doctor prescribed that I checked blood sugar and blood pressure before and after squats, which I did.

    Squats: 70 x 5 (paused); 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 190 x 1; 208 x 5 x 2; 100 x 5 x 2 (paused)
    Press: 45 x 5; 65 x 3; 95 x 1; 105 x 1; 116 x 0 x 0 I ran out of steam

Hope your recovery from the flu is progressing, hat's off to you for getting after it while on the mend.

    Thank you, hondotbt.

I weather got so bad that we decided to close the gym in mid session. I only did my squats and left before I did bench and deadlift.

    Squat: 70 x 5 (paused); 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 200 x 1; 225 x 1; 241 x 2 x 2; 100 x 5 x 1

It was very sad because it was Deadlift 1+ day. I wanted to shoot for 375. Maybe Friday.

The snow makes me long for a warmer climate.

    We lift to live...
We all need a break once in a while. When we fail to work them in, fate helps us out.
The weights will all be there next session.
    Good luck!
