If you can get her into the gym she will earn PRs that makes life with you a breeze.

I haven't been involved in many competitions, but a few. I hope to lift in many more. I've noticed that many have routines they go through as they approach a lift but the one that consistently produces routines is the Deadlift. I find I do as well. If I don't follow them I tend to not be able to lift. Today I found that to be true. Instead of facing the way I was used to doing I wound up facing the wrong way due to changes that needed to be made for my first attempt at a PR. Humbug.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 205 x 1; 234.5 x 2 x 2
    Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 146 x 2 x 2 My thumb isn't completely healed but I made the lifts anyway.
    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1; 322.5 x 1; 355 x 0 I was facing the wrong way. I moved some things I tried again. 355 x 0 Humbug!

The plates will still be there for the next cycle... and you'll be stronger.
    Strong work!

    Cheesepuff,

Thanks for the encouraging words. Have you thought about the lifts you will make in October at the Classic? I usually set ultimate and acceptable goals for each. In my case if I can do a straight bar squat with some weight on the bar I will consider it to be meeting my ultimate goal but I will be satisfied if I can do 3 empty bar squats. So. O shooting for 45, 95, and 125 but will find 45 x 3 acceptable. I don't want to skip the squat again.

For Press: I plan to set for ultimate goals 100, 115, 125.

For Dead: My ultimate will be 340 (155 kg); 363 (165 kg) and 374 (170 kg) but I will find acceptable 330, 345, and 363.

    What are your goals?

A fascinating video. I'm debating whether to move into the category described and join 77 but I'm not sure how to do it. Sully has stated that competition does not interest him. So, where do I go?

    Another good day.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 205 x 1; 225 x 5 x 3
    Press: 45 x 5; 65 x 3; 85 x 2; 101 x 3; 81 x 5 x 3
    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1; 325 x 3 A new personal record.

As I lift in preparation for the USSF Fall Classic in Chicago my Press target is 125 and my DL target is 374.
