You sure are doing great in my eyes Mr. Carson. I'm almost 70 and did some pretty good lifting ( at least for me) until I was about 60. Then some family situations beyond my control caused me to stop working out. About 4 years ago I got back into it, mainly because something my son sent me about Mark Rippitoe and Starting Strength.Right now I would be wary about even doing a walk out with weight your using for squats. But I do know if I hadn't got back to training I would be in worse condition than I am now. Your work with Sully is amazing.

Thanks Jerry. My top squat weight is 267.5 which i did 4 or 5 years ago. However, it wasn't to depth and so I shouldn't count it. Speaking of walking out a heavy weight when I picked the weight off of the hooks I thought and blurted out "my God this is heavy". Frank, our assistant coach said after the lifts, "never say that when the weight is on your back." He was right, of course, but it just came out. Sully and his assistant Frank are great to work with. By the way, Sully put me in charge of recruiting people for the Fall Classic in Chicago. It looks like we will have a good crew there from Greysteel, especially since our 92 year old plans to compete.

Heavy Day: Two positives and one not so much.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 210 x 2; 230 x 1; 243 x 3 (PR); 218 x 3 x 2
    Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 148 x 5 (PR #2); 133 x 5
    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1; 342.5 x 0 x 0

I've fallen into a bad habit of raising my butt without lifting off of the floor. I need to pull as well as push. I don't know why I can't seem to break the habit. But I'll keep at it.

BTW our 92 year old lifter did another Dead pr for 247.5. This Fall Classic in Chicago promises to be a blast.

    Great lifts.

I'm going to have to find my way back to consistency.

    - Fall Classic is coming!

Yeah, but I'm not doing either the squat or bench at the Fall Classic. I just need to get the Press and Dead in order. 385 here I come.
