Great lifting Carson. I just started a few months ago and you are an inspiration.

Thank you and welcome to the gold standard of lifting.
Why not start posting on the SS forum just under this one. I hope you are using the book(s). Start by giving your age, height and weight. If you are within 40 miles of a SS coach go see him or her. Best wishes. I'll look for you on the SS forum.
This lockdown is locking me down. Today was one of those days that the Deadlift beat me. Some of it had to do with not having enough time to rest before I did my back off lifts. Enough whining. Here's my log for today.
Squat 70 x 5 (pause); 160 x 3; 200 x 1; 207.5 x 1; 187.5 x 5 x 2 These were pretty good. Depth was correct on most lifts.
Bench 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 150 x 3; 135 x 5 x 2 Fairly easy.
Dead 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1; 342.5 x 1; 308 x 0 I failed the back offs. How the heck did I do that? I believe I did not rest long enough between top weight and back offs. We operate under strict lock down protocol. It's what's necessary just now.
I started at age 66. I never lifted barbells before. I was getting fat, slow, and slouchy. I didn't like it. So, I was ready for the invitation.
In what state are you located? There is a section on the site that can help you find one. In what state do you live?
If no coach is in your area try online coaching.
I have lifted before....last regular wo's were 28-30 years ago.
I live in Georgia. I found a gym with SS coach's about an hour away when traffic's perfect so that's not good. I could look into online coaching.
Thanks for your reply's.

I guess Light days are necessary:
Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 3; 160 x 1; 187.5 x 5 x 2; 102.5 x 5 (paused)
Press: 45 x 5; 70 x 3; 95 x 1; 105 x 1; 73 x 8 x 3
Prowler: 45 x 6 x 2
Carson...It seems that you are consistent getting in your workouts. Do you decide what your wo's are or you still coached?
I am coached at Greysteel Strength and Conditioning Clinic. We were off for several months but have returned recently and follow strict protocol of hand washing, disinfecting stations, disinfecting bars and plates, wearing masks and keeping distance. We will probably keep this up for a few weeks and then reopen completely if we continue to have no reports of any viruses. We have had none.
Our good coach assumed that since PT clinics would remain open and most of our clients are over 50 that we would restart with serious precautions. He senses a calling to work with older people knowing that if people don't sarcopenia, osteoporosis, diabetes, etc. will destroy us as it does with most Americans. He is a MD and has a PhD in Physiology. You and I, my friend, are in that category and I'm thankful for the help this man is willing to give us.
