I'm happy to make gains occasionally on three of the four lifts. I love one lift in particular but that love is not always returned. I love the Deadlift. Imagine, it has taken me over 5 years to move from 315 to 374 and even then I seem only to be able to lift that in competition. I have at least become consistent in my squat form. The big leap was learning how to get my knees out far enough apart. Lifting is still one of the most enjoyable things I do.

    Light day.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 200 x 1; 214 x 5 x 2; 100 x 5 x 2 (paused)
    Press: 45 x 5; 70 x 3; 100 x 1; 119 x 1; 83 x 8 x 2; 6 x 1
    Prowler: 90 lbs x 6 x 4 That's 324 x 4.

    Medium

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 210 x 1; 230 x 1; 248 x 2 x 2; 100 x 5 x 2
    Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 153 x 2 x 2
    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1; 342.5 x 1; 360 x 0

To fail once again at 360 is disconcerting. At the April Challenge my first lift was 363 and my top lift was 374. I was pretty worn out by the time I got to the Dead. On the next medium day I'm going to do the Dead first and see what happens.

Light day. There is a reason for Light days. It gives enough of a variety to give ones body a chance to rest...a little.

There are at least 2 reasons to dislike them. A. Little chance for PRs and B. Most of all that darned prowler.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 200 x 1; 215 x 5 x 2; 120 x 5 x 2 (pause)
    Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 155 x 1; 162 x 1; 175 x 1; 182 x 0; 113 x 8 x 2
    Prowler: 90 lbs. x 6 x 4

Medium Day. I've certainly seen better but I did learn something. I tried Deadlift first instead of last assuming that I exhausted myself on earlier lifts and had little left for the Deads. My experiment did not work.

    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1; 342.5 x 1 (this was my 1+ goal); 360 x 0
    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 210 x 1; 249 x 1; 249 x 1 It was supposed to be 249 x 2. I had to drop the bar. 120 x 5 x 2 (paused) A deload may be in order.
    Press: 45 x 5; 70 x 3; 100 x 1; 112 x 1; 112 x 1 It was supposed to be 112 x 2. 81 x 8 x 2; 6 x 1

On the next medium day I may have to do all of these weights again. Mama said, "there will be days like this."
