Hope it heals quickly. What does Sully say about it? Did they tape you up at all?

He gave me some balloons and tried to get me another thing that would help me make deep breaths several times a day. No tape ups. I will be very glad when this is over.

aw man, rib injuries are not fun. damn things flex every time you breathe, and i'm told this is a required thing for some folks. take it easy my friend, ribs take far longer to heal than you'd like

I now have a Colonel Hogan Gonkulator (a joke) to help my breathing. Actually it's a Polyciser. It's easy to use. I hope it keeps me from having further problems. Thanks one and all for the words of encouragement. I'll keep training in a limited fashion. Maybe I'll be ready for the competition by the end of October.

You were able to squat and prowler. You may have to do those when your program calls for something you can't go hard with.
The pain adds fatigue to your workout, so give yourself credit for "showing up".
Do what you can, you'll soon be able to do more.

    I'm forging with your encouragement.

A rather good day considering. Sully called it "Diagnostic". I lifted much more today than last session. Deads were the only one that gave me any serious pain.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 200 x 1; 225 x 2; 240 x 1 x 1
    Press: 45 x 5; 70 x 3; 95 x 1; 101 x 3; 82 x 5 x 3
    Dead: 135 x 3; 185 x 2 (ouch); 225 x 1 (OUCH!)

Still it was a great improvement. The Gonkulator is working fine.

It's getting better each time. Much less pain. Much heavier weights. Bench is still a little problem but the others are almost back to where they were before my flight off of the merry go round.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 200 x 1; 220 x 5; 185 x 5 x 2 Virtually no excess pain. Just a little discomfort.
Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 115 x 5 x 3 The only real pain was taking the bar off of the hooks but not debilitating. I may even be able to push some limits next time.
    Dead: 135 x 3 x 2; 185 x 2; 225 x 2; 275 x 1; 315 x 1; 335 x 0 (Some pain kept me from lifting the weight); 200 x 5 All without belt. That's the ticket at least for now.

The Polyciser is doing its job. So is Sully. I'm glad I kept lifting throughout this injury.

    Some pain but nothing debilitating.

    Squat: 70 x 5; 120 x 5; 160 x 3; 210 x 1; 225 x 5; 190 x 5 x 2
    Press: 45 x 5; 70 x 3; 95 x 1; 110 x 1; 121 x 0 x 0; 85 x 8 x 2; 4 x 1 ribs hurt
    Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1; 320 x 1; 210 x 5

Sully thought that my form was so good that maybe I should hurt my ribs more often. Maybe not.
