I've always lacked adequate patience, at least that's what people tell me. I will follow Sully's HLM program but urge him to give me a few chasing singles days.
I'm guessing Sulley does not want to over train you. It seems to me heavy on Monday then 3 full days rest and light on Fridays would be good as long as you recover properly. BUT don't take me wrong I am not going to second guess your coach as I am thinking out loud for my training if I ever go to two fixed days a week. I rotate days now.
I wish you good luck with your goals.

Another Light day :-(
Squat: 70 x 5 (paused); 140 x 3; 180 x 1; 190 x 5 x2; 70 x 5 (paused)
Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 145 x 5; 132.5 x 5 x 2
Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 275 x 1; 292.5 x 5
It was probably necessary since the gym was closed on Monday.
Heavy Day!!!! Yah! I love to challenge myself with things I'm not sure I can do. It's been a long long 1 1/2 years with all sorts of interruptions most of which were unnecessary. Enough. I am finally back on track...with some bumps still with the Press. I'm a nudnick when it comes to the press.
Squat: 70 x 5 (pause); 140 x 3; 180 x 1; 202.5 x 3; 192.5 x 5 x 2 (Just 67.5 pounds to go to match PR)
Press: 45 x 5; 65 x 3; 85 x 1; 93 x 4 (fail); 83 x 5 x 2 On my top lift pressed like a dance or roller skate. You don't want to see that. I wound up with the weight on the floor. I regroup and pressed 4 but could not lift #5. (Just 35 pounds to go)
Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 315 x 1 all with hook grip; 335 x 1 (surprisingly easy); 300 x 5 (Just 40 pounds to go)
Heavy Day!!!!
Yay!! Time to challenge yourself.
Some day I want to deadlift to this: J.S. Bach -Toccata & Fugue in D-minor - Stephanuskerk Hasselt - YouTube
Fantastic effort, carson!
Awesome. Inspirational.
The first light day that I have enjoyed. Tell you why, later.
Squat: 70 x 5 (paused); 140 x 3; 180 x 1; 197 x 5 x 2; 70 x 5 (paused)
Bench: 45 x 5; 95 x 3; 135 x 1; 147 x 5; 135 x 5 x 2
Dead: 135 x 3; 225 x 2; 275 x 1; 300 x 5 (The easiest 300 x 5 I've ever done. I chose music I really like. I listened to Bach's, "Tacata and Fugue in D minor" at top volume. I've found music that helps me.)
