I am really enjoying the ascending 5x5 on squats, but I'm thinking that's a bad thing. I don't think that it will be enough stress for prolonged progress. I predict that when I start up around 350-365 I will probably need to switch to descending sets like my presses. I won't change it until I notice a decrease in strength, because why change things if the weight is still moving up?

Doing a split snatch now. Lock out is much easier this way. Even though I have been actively trying to stretch my shoulders, I find that I still lack the mobility to receive a snatch in the squat position.

I'd been sick, lost about 7 lbs in 11 days. Did not lose as much strength as I thought I would. Today was just a tune-up workout to get back into the swing of things. Business as usual will resume on Monday
