Solid grind on that squat, and great job. Glad the hamstring didn't stop you today. Keep the PRs coming!

Thanks man! This really makes me want to sit back when able to analyze my programming. I'm starting to respond to training more like J. Sullivan's demographic than Andy Baker's demographic, you know? Taking a break from squat led to a +10 PR. That bears some thought. When I'd read something like "master's athletes are volume sensitive, and intensity dependent," I wasn't thinking of myself in that picture. Sure, I'm Master's Division by virtue of being 42, but only recently has my body started to act like it. More to follow, if life would just slow down long enough for me to think through this.
531 Week 2: 3s Week
No main lift scheduled
Row: 260x6x3 (V18 PR)
Row progression continues. The explosive start of the row made my hamstring say "Hey, remember me?" But other than a momentary shock this was no problem.

531 Week 2: 3s Week
Press 3s
Press: 175x3, 195x3, 225x3 (3PR!) Video at Geoffrey Bischoff on Instagram: “225x3 press! Big PR. SDG #22000lbs4johnson #22miles4johnson #weights #wendler531 #teamssoc #texasmethod #teambloc #usstrengthlifting…”
So I kinda got mad at myself for moving so slow on the press. Today was a programmed triple at 215, which would've been a 3PR by 2.5lbs. But I was feeling good, and decided to load 225, knowing that even 2 reps would be a PR. So, rep 2 came up pretty easy, and I bounced into rep 3 and got it with a 5.7s grind. WOO!

531 Week 2: 3d Week
Deadlift PR double, because why the hell not.
DL: 480x2 (2PR!) Video at Geoffrey Bischoff on Instagram: “480x2. 2PR! Stamina is down lately but looks like I can still handle heavy loads. SDG! #22000lbs4johnson #22miles4johnson #weights…”
I'm basically just doing whatever on low-body right now. This came up okay.

531 Week 3: 1s Week
Squat: 430x2 (2PR!) Video at Geoffrey Bischoff on Instagram: “430x2. 2PR! SDG Also today: Bench, 360x0. Elbow pain in the descent nixed the rep for me. #22000lbs4johnson #22miles4johnson #weights…”
Managed to bang this out. Glad for it.
Bench: 315x1, 340x1, 360x0
Did bench today as well, with less success. On my two lead-up singles, I was able to descend the bar quickly, ignoring my elbow pain, and get the reps up fast. 315 came up in 1.09 seconds, and 340 came up in 1.88. But on 360, my descent from lockout to chest was 2.71 seconds, as I tried to ease my elbow into it, and that much eccentric stress fatigued me such that the bar only came about 5 inches off my chest before stopping like it hit a wall. This elbow is annoying.

Got elbow sleeves in the mail from SBD. Here's hoping they help.

531 Week 3: 1s Week
DL: 505x0 Video of attempt at Geoffrey Bischoff on Instagram: “505x0. No PR today. But this is improvement. Last time I tried 505, it didn't budge from the floor. This time it was at my knees. SDG…”
I really thought I had this until I got to my knees. Grip was no problem so I'm happy about that, and I gave 3.7 seconds to the attempt (from floor-break), and 5.1 seconds to it overall (from slack-pull). And last time I tried 505 it didn't even come off the floor. So this is progress, but it's not victory.
Now I have to figure out what my programming looks like next week, and I have no idea. I think I've finally overcome my fatigue deficit and my volume overload, so I'm ready for something harder volume-wise. I'll read up in Sully's book (BBP) and see what pops.
