Adam, God's been gracious to me on recovery, as you'll see below. I'm still a bit short on wind, but today represents full strength recovery.
Kingwood: Paused for Flu
Press Progression: 215x1x3 (V3 PR)
My press progression continues on-pace despite health issues. Amen.
Unplanned Work:
My pal Brandon at the gym I go to had a Mark Bell back pad for me to borrow today. It's just a 1/8" thick rubber mat that goes down on the bench to keep you from sliding on crappy globo-gym benches. It was heaven. I'm buying one. The stability was a major boost. So I ran singles up on bench today.
WOO! That was +10 from my last best single. I'm stoked. 3 and a half plates is a lifer milestone. Heck ... in July of 2018, I was early in my LP, and saw a guy SQUATTING 365 for reps and thought, "I will be so happy if I am that strong one day." Whelp ... today I benched my 2018 squat goal, so there's that, eh?
Tuesday I expect to be able to resume my paused Kingwood.

Kingwood: W3D1. Volume Day
Squat: 335x5x3
Deadlift: 405x5x2
Bench: 275x5x5
Got it done, no drama. Squats felt smooth, finally.

Kingwood: W3D2. Recovery Day
Squat: 315x4x3
Math said this probably should've been 295, but I just can't bring myself to work at less than 3 plates. Easy day for light day; this was a good weight.
5x5 at 165 was definitely going to be a smoke show. I thought I might have 205 for a 5PR, and I was right.
Row: 260x8x3
Progression row, 8s. Got it done. I'm still making jumps on my 8/6/4/2 on rows, so I'm not changing anything. Next should be 265x6x3, next week I think.

Kingwood: Goof-off
Coaching Tim today, and got a wild hair. Wasn't supposed to lift at all until Tuesday for Intensity Day, and hopefully I didn't wreck my ID.
Had 225 loaded on the bar for Tim's backoff squats, and I got this idea to just press the damned thing. 225 is a manageable weight for me, generally, but I hadn't warmed up, and wasn't wearing wrists, elbows, belt, or lift shoes. I unracked the bar and it felt feather-light. I pressed it handily.
So, 10 minutes later, I loaded it to 240 to try for a new PR. I almost fumbled the unrack, and used more energy than I wanted to in getting it righted. But ...
This was a 6-second grind. I'm convinced it would've come up in about 3 seconds if I hadn't had that unrack fumble. But a PR is a PR.

Wups ...
Game of Freeze Tag followed by Sharks and Minnows with the kids in the back yard. It was fun, until I tried to zigzag like a 20-something and strained my L adductor. Felt the characteristic guitar-string pop, and folded up onto my face for six minutes while the kids climbed all over me wondering what was wrong with Dad.
So ... Intensity Day is supposed to happen in 90 minutes. It will be highly truncated is all I know. Possibly bench only, and I might not even have the bench numbers I need if I can't leg drive.
This log blows.

Kingwood: W4D1. Intensity Day, sort of.
Squat: 45x0
Wanted to see if I could squat with this adductor two hours after injury. I can't. Got into the hole, and had to lay a 45-lb bar on the pins. It was kinda funny, in a sad way.
Deadlift: 345x1
While coaching Tim, I worked singles up. Strength is definitely degraded right now, though the deadlift is not excruciating like the squat was. I probably had 405 if I wanted it, but I was content to pull a smooth-ish 345 for now, and I'll revisit when able.
Leg drive in the bench was not a problem. If you watch to the end of the video, though, you'll see that I forget about my injury and try to squat myself up from the bench. Hilarity ensues.
None of these felt good. But hey. It's an improvement.
Press (Progression): 200x5x3 (V15 PR!)
Sets across PR on the press, so there's that.
Deadlift: Singles up to 405
Just to be sure I could.

Kingwood: No Scheduled Lifts, Rehab Squat
Squat: Worked up to: 225x2
185 (last rehab squat) was tough; today 185 was easy and 225 was tough. Pain did not return to baseline for nearly a half hour.

Kingwood: Paused for Coronaville
Went to the Army dungeon with Tim. Equipment is passable but not great. Goofed off a bit.
Rehab Squat: Worked up to 265x2
225 was easy; 265 wasn't.
Bench: 225x20
Wanted to try the Combine test. I had more reps in me, but 20 reps is cardio, and I hate cardio.

Kingwood: Paused for Coronaville
Army dungeon again.
Rehab Squat: 225x5, 3
This was going to be sets across, with an accelerated LP in mind. Adductor tweaked (slight tearing sensation) at the bottom of rep 4, and I had to dump it. I think I need to LP the squat from the ground up. Might start at 135. Lame.
