Texas Method Variant, W1D1
There's going to be some fast-and-loose rolled into this as we chase PRs in different categories. Today:
Squat: 275x5x5
Bench: 212.5x5x3 (Sets Across PR)
Got the sets across PR with authority; think we'll do this again on Thursday.

TMV, W1D2
Press: 130x4x3 (V12 PR)
Deadlift: 325x1

TMV, W1D3
This TM variant is looking more like a LP variant right now. I begin to think that Tim's in a similar boat to what I was in post-COVID layoff. A bunch of life stuff stacked up on him basically the second his LP finished, and he hasn't had ONE SINGLE fully successful week of Texas Method. So ... Gonna do some LP work for a bit and see what happens.
Squat: 315x1, 330x1
In a perfect world, this would've been 330x5. It was this performance that's led me to believe we need to do some old-fashioned 3x5s on the squat for a bit.
Bench: 215x5x3 (Sets Across PR)
Tim's still making sets across gains, so we're going to keep at it while the keepin's good.
Deadlift: 350x5 (5PR!)
And a new, solid 5rep PR on deadlift. Not too shabby.
The Fifth Lift (Fork-To-Mouth):
Tim's BW is all the way down to 189. We're going to address that while we LP for a bit.

TMV, W2D1
Squat: 290x5x3
Gonna LP these for a bit.
Bench: 217.5x5x3 (Sets Across PR)
Deadlift Volume: 315x3x2
I think this is a volume PR on deadlift. Trying to get just a little bit more pulling volume in; Tim's 350x5 had some thoracic curve to it, so these lighter sets are to allow for more strength and hypertrophy to that structure.

Barely a Texas Method Variant, W2D2
Squat: 300x5, 275x5x2
Still trying to find stride. This went well; we'll add 5 to top set on Thursday.
Press: 135x3x3 (V9 PR!)
Presses moving quite well. We've got that going for us at least.

BTMV, W2D3
Deadlift: 385x1 (PR!)
Bench: 220x5x3 (Sets Across PR)
Moving along; a day of PRs.
-
BTMV, W3D1
Squat: 305x5, 285x5x2
Inching it up. We'll keep at these top sets a bit while Tim gets his form dialed in. These are looking a lot better.
Bench: 225x5x3 (Sets Across PR)
Tim worked hard for this. Schedule had him at 222.5x5x3 but he wanted to take the jump. Plan now is to move bench press to a more traditional Texas Method model, which means light press Weds (in the form of OHP progression), followed by a 5rep PR on bench Friday, then next week a 4x5 or 5x5 for bench volume.
Deadlift: 320x3x2 (Volume PR)
Rock-solid back, and Tim's first work with switch grip. Other day when Tim hit 385 for a single, he also tried 405. He got it to his knees and then it slipped out of his hands and crashed down. We've been talking about changing grips for awhile (he's been DOH since the beginning), and now's the time. After training grip all the way up at DOH, he found back-setting much easier when he didn't have to worry about grip as much today. Good triples.

BTMV, W3D2
Squat: 310x5, 285x5x2
Still rolling along with this modified LP.
Press: 140x2x3 (V6 PR)
Another modest PR on presses.
Deadlift: 325x3x2 (V6 PR)
Good switch-grip work and a solidly set back on reps 2 and 3 of each set. Something's creeping back into Tim's form on 1st rep but I couldn't quite pinpoint what the issue was.

BTMV, W3D3
Squat: 315x5, 285x5x2
Bench: 232.5x4
-
BTMV, W4D1 (Day 1 of 2; short training week)
Squat: 320x5, 275x5x2
Bench: 232.5x4, 227.5x3x2
Deadlift: 330x3x2 (V6 PR)
