Bench: 225x8, 255x5, 275x3
Stripped a lot of weight off the bar to get this done. Supposed to have been 275, 285, 305. I think I might be sick, not sure.

Closed out another week of these. Next: 9x2 and BBC for 75 I think. Or I might do 2 sets of 6. Dunno yet.

Full YOLO. First time since the elbow repair surgery in February (10 months ago!) that I've hit a lifetime single PR. This one is from almost exactly 2 years ago: Hit 500 on 20191226.
This is the only thing I did this session. No presses this week.

Haven't lifted since Christmas. Some hardship came our way; my wife ended up getting 3 surgeries back to back to correct an urgent problem. I spent most of the week either driving to and from hospital, sitting in a recliner at the hospital, or arranging childcare. Hope this is all behind us now. Julie's home and well enough, though weak and fatigued.
Had to reduce load on some things. this was a titrated workout for sure.
Chins: BWx4, 5, 6
Barbell Curl: 45x8, 55x8, 65x8
Squat: 275x3, 285x3, 295x3, 305x3, 315x3
No issues here. Felt heavier than it should, but 315 didn't feel any heavier than 275 so I think I just need to continue leaning into recovery.
Bench: 255x3, 275x3, 295x3, 367.5x1 (Lifetime PR!) Video of top single at Login • Instagram
I always bounce back quickest on bench. I'm stoked about this: Lifetime best single, 11 months after my elbow repair surgery. On this count at least, I've healed stronger than pre-injury.
Deadlift: 315x3, 345x3, 375x3, 405x1
Easy work here. Felt heavier than these loads should, but I think that's about 70% mental and only 30% recovery in this case.

A bit late reading this Geoff, but hoping the best for your wife.

Thank you for your kind words, brother. She's doing much better. She's been walking laps around the block in our neighborhood (including today, in the snow), and is generally 1000% improved. Might even get her under a barbell again in February, who can say?

Squat: 445x1 (post-op PR), 325x3x3. Video of 445 at Login • Instagram
Bench: 255x8, 275x5, 305x3
Deadlift: 395x5
Paused Deadlift: 315x3, 345x3, 365x3
Ramping chins/curls back up such that I should be able to hit last month's progression targets again by next week. Squat went well; I need to add 15lbs to that to be lifetime best. LET'S GOOOOOO!
Deadlift was a bit under, but I feel the ability to go harder in me. No worries. Ramped paused deadlifts up to just under where I left off before Christmas break; should be able to rejoin normal progression on that next week.

I'm caught up to where I was on these before Julie got sick. Monday I should step forward.

Light day ... titrating these up to an appropriate load.

Trying to figure out this shoulder pain. At these loads, while paying laser-strict attention to elbow placement and shoulder-blade pinning, I was able to max out at 1/10 pain on the top triples. Perhaps I LP from here for awhile and hope whatever it is calms down.

So ... I didn't lift again last week. At all. Came down hard with some grade-A crud. Not the Rona (got tested, just in case) but def something. Military doc put me on 72hrs quarters. For context, last time an Army doc put me on a 72hour sleep-it-off, Bill Clinton was president.
Anyway ... Symptoms gone except for lingering weakness and general lethargy. Time to burn that crap out.
These weights all felt much heavier than the load should've been.
