    Squat: 325x3x4

Body says I needed this light day. First triple at 325 felt like my Tuesday triple at 375.

    Deadlift: 420x3, 360x3x3

    Press: 182.5x5x4

In my bleary-eyed state at 0430, I read this as sets of 5, so I did 20 reps. When I logged afterwards I realize coach had Rx'd four triples (12 reps). Wups. It came up though.

    Bench: 265x5x4

    Putting in work.

    Squat: 380x3, 300x5x3

    Deadlift: 395x5, 4, 3

RX for deadlifts was sets of 4 again, for 12 reps. I did 12 reps, but once again went 5/4/3. So I can count a new 5-rep post-surgery PR.

    Bench: 270x9, 6, 5

    20 reps was the Rx.

    Press: 190x5, 4, 3

    12 rep Rx.

    Press (5:00 Density): 165x24

24 reps in 5 minutes, sets not greater than 5. Used to do density blocks often back in goody bodybuilding days, but this was the first time my coach has ever prescribed it. A fun one-time or occasional diversion that gets a buttload of volume stacked in short time.

Notes on that: Stripping wrist wraps and belt was a time consuming part of the density block.

Got my new top triple on squat, and got 12 reps at 400 for DL. Good day.

Thanks man! Consistency is about to take a (hopefully brief) dump, as I'll explain below.

    NANM W13D3

Last week Thursday, forgot to log it.

    Bench: 295x5, 4, 3

    12 reps, and a new post-surgery top 5.

    Press: 202.5x5, 175x5x3

    New post-surgery top 5.

So ... missed day 4 last week. They closed the gym Friday, and we scrambled to find a location to lift. We found one, but then Friday morning I woke to my wife Julie sobbing with pain. The poor dear had been suffering for 7 hours, staying quiet to let me sleep. She's too good to me. Pain was acute; we had her transported by ambulance to GLWACH for evaluation. Won't get into the weeds except to say she's fine now after a 4-day stay split across 2 hospitals, and I spent the weekend sitting in hospital recliners. My parents flew in from Phoenix to watch the kids.

I'll only get 2 training days this week before we all take a 7-day vacation out further east. I'm grateful Julie's well enough to still do our planned trip; we haven't taken the kids anywhere in quite some time and she especially has been looking forward to it.

ANYHOO ... two training days followed by a week away, I hit top sets only this week, no backoffs, and will probably lose some ground but hey, I'm okay with it short-term. Monday and Tuesday below:

    NANM, W14D1 and D2

    Press: 205x5

Another post-surgery PR on that elbow ... and it's only 2.5lbs off of my lifetime best set of 5 presses. Woot.

    Bench: 330x1

    25lb PR on post-repair work.

    Squat: 395x2

+10lbs over most I've had on my back in many months, and managed to ride it for a triple.

    Deadlift: 455x1

    +30lbs to post-surgery deadlift.

Okay. Got some new post-op bests posted; hoping the week away doesn't set me back too far (especially since I'm going to have an unavoidable 2-week layoff in late July).

Session 1 of 2 planned for this week. Just back from a 7-day layoff for vacation.

    Squat: 335x5, 4, 3

RX was four triples (12 reps). Got my 12 reps in cheeky-style. A little wobbly and Bambi-legged after a week away and no real volume last week, but got it in.

    Deadlift: 435x2, 370x6, 3

RX was 435x3. Couldn't get the last rep. Still managed to double my first backoff set to get done in "two touches."

Also, I'm off creatine for a week now. Need to build that back up in my system.
