    Short, heavy day at lunch. In combat boots and utilities. That's a booted PR on both counts, and a post-op best triple to boot (haha punny).

    Lame. I think I'm done for the week, which ain't so bad since I got sufficient volume in to at least not lose ground.

    So at some point during this week (I think yesterday) I gave myself a brand new tweak. Never been hurt in this spot before. One of my bracing muscles, I don't even know what it's called. Maybe it's a spinal erector? But it's not right along the spine. It's more out towards the side, almost medial on the left side. Right under the small ribs. Feels just like an abdominal tweak I got back in 2018 during deadlifts, in terms of pain level and impact.

    It's annoying, since it prevented me from bracing hard with and without belt today. After the lame squat and deadlift performance I thought I could at least hit bench, figuring it was primarily going to affect the pull and squat. But belt-bracing with a heavy bench was also troublesome, and 330 came up like pond water.

    The good news: As I mentioned, it feels like something I had back in 2018. That particular injury only took 10-ish days to rehab before I was lifting heavier than pre-injury. Hurt myself at 410 iirc, pulled 415 not long after. So I'm gonna rest through until Monday and see where that puts me.

    So hey, I'm still not healed up, and totally shouldn't have attempted that 4x5 on Squat...

    Kinda discouraged right now. It's amazing how much I rely on that tiny little muscle (which, after the acute phase wore off, turns out to be a left oblique, and not even close to the erector ... pain can be confusing sometimes).

    275 squat single was okay but still acutely painful. Gonna rest it a bit longer before doing volume.

    The big win today: Press. Bracing with this abdominal strain is still making squat and deadlift mostly a no-go, but I got all the press volume I intended to get today without the pain level going higher than like 2/10.
