    Notes Bonus Pressing day for volume & frequency. Plus, some empty bar SQ warmups because Holy Mother of DOMS! Not just my left adductor, but the pair have just been screaming at me today. Payback for going quite heavy after a couple of weeks away.

    Notes Rain, then Rain/Snow mix, then Snow overnight that melted as it landed, for the most part. The first snow of the season down low and the first workout that I needed a hoodie for at least the empty bar warmups.
    - SQ - Intensity Singles. Holy cow I must have done a number on my left adductor last Friday. I felt it through my empty bar warmups, but nothing to worry about. It progressively felt more intense as I added weight, and I ended up hobbling out from under the bar after that 285x1, when it was intense enough that I significantly shifted to my right leg to get up to lockout. I'd like to push through, but I also have a few events over the coming weeks where I can't be laid up. I don't think that it's a tear, just irritated from me going too heavy after a 2.5 week layoff. The Licensed Massage Therapist in the house threw me on the table and addressed both the origin (pelvis) and insertion (tibia) ends of the adductor, which were both excruciating, as were the minor insertions along the femur. I dropped to 185 and did 10 slow and controlled reps, which were still quite uncomfortable yet manageable. That became the workout for the day with two more 10-rep sets. I'll add weight tomorrow, as this has become my "job" for the next week+. Of course, these light-weight/high-rep sets will introduce a different kind of DOMS. Payback for some poor decision-making.
    - PC - Light Triples across. All good.

    Notes Ignore this if you wish. With the adductor issues I created a week ago, I'm going light every day, but adding weight to work out the issues. Waking up this morning brought no surprise as yesterday's first 185x10x3 created some DOMS, especially in the adductors. Non-workout related, with the cool-down (38F outside right now/54F in the garage), it's a good chance to test out the new space heater to be used for taking the edge off the garage temp when it actually gets cold later this season.
    - SQ - Light Volume sets across. All good. By about rep 8, I've had enough. Not approaching failure, just had enough. Then I think of the posts by Rip and others where they've done 405+ for 20 reps. I'm not even interested in doing this for 20 reps.

    Notes — It's been awhile since I've done 3-lift workouts, but since I need to work out this adductor issue, I have to add the Light Volume Squats. Unfortunately, that pushed the workout tonnage to 11K+, which is a ~35%+ jump over my typical workout tonnage (yes, I track that, as I have been able to see when overall tonnage over a few weeks time starts beating me down). Good thing that it's the weekend...although I'll need to work in more Light Volume session for Squats, Presses, and Bench. That's OK, as I have another break coming up soon.
    - SQ - Light Sets across. Still working out those adductor issues. At this weight, it's becoming quite the aerobic activity, especially considering that this is +40lbs over the past three days. I stand by my statement yesterday about heavy sets of 20-reps. But it is helping. I'm still feeling the tightness and mild discomfort at the origin (pelvis) end of the adductor, but it's nothing like it was just a few days ago. All good.
    - Pin Press - Intensity Single, +5lbs over last week (but still -5lbs from 9/28/23). Warmups were standard OP up to 150x1, then I reset the safeties for Pin Press. Both the warmup 175x1 and the Single 197.5x1 went up smoothly, probably because I made sure to get my elbows tight and in front of the bar. For the Single, I even pressed it out instead of relying on a layback and straightened arms to get it to lock out. Interesting.
    - OP - Intensity Singles, +5lbs over last week (but still -12.5lbs from 9/19/23). Smooth and stead, all good.
    - BP - Volume Sets across. At the end of this long session, these were much tougher than they should have been, but they got done.

    Notes It's been a few days. I've managed to skip the daily Light Volume Squats plus the programmed workouts for Sunday and Monday. My scheduling and poor sleep had caught up to me, not to mention the horrible sinus crud that has me drained and draining. I'm going to be out more than in the next couple of weeks, so I think that I'm entering maintenance season, although I may be able to run up a few lifts once I return, depending on how the snow builds in the mountains.
    - SQ - Light Volume for warmup/check in on left adductor. That adductor is definitely on the mend, making itself slightly known during that x10 set.
    - Pin OP - Intensity Single after OP warmups to 155lbs. Smooth and steady, with room to move. The technique is getting dialed in.
    - OP - Intensity Singles across. Smooth and steady. All good. Ditto.
    - Pin BP - Intensity Single after BP warmups to 225lbs. The 245x1 warmup felt like the safeties were too high, but I didn't put much thought into it. The 272.5x1 went great, exploding off the safeties after a 3-count. Getting up, I realized that I had set the safeties at my SQ height, which meant that the safeties were 4" too high for this lift. So I reset the safeties to the correct height (my old SQ safety height) and did it again. Not as explosive, which makes sense with the positioning, but it locked out just fine.
    - BP - Intensity Singles across. Not as smooth and steady as the Presses, but all good.
