    12/23/23 - Saturday

    DL H @ 8'
    135x4
    185x2
    225x1
    275x1
    315x1
    355x5

    SQ L @ 3'
    45x10x3
    135x5
    185x3
    225x1
    265x1
    290x5x3

Music — Lemmy+Billy Gibbons+Dave Grohl, Run Rudolph Run; August Burns Red, Carol Of The Bells.

Notes — The poor sleep continues. This was to be yesterday's workout, but I wasn't recovered, so I pushed it to today while making sure that I got my HIIT session in. Running short on time, but I am not skipping this today.
    - DL - Heavy set. All good.
    - SQ - Light sets across. Struck due to time constraints, although I did get the 45x10x3 warmup done before my DLs.

    12/25/23 - Monday

    OP I @ 5'
    45x5x3
    95x5
    135x3
    150x1
    165x3x4

    BP L @ 3'
    45x5x2
    95x5
    135x3
    185x1
    205x1
    232.5x5x3

Music — Type O Negative, Red Water (Christmas Mourning); Korn, Kidnap The Sandy Claws; Starkill, All I Want For Christmas (if you're sick of the Mariah version); Ice Nine Kills, Merry Axe-Mas; Dio & Tony Iommi, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen; King Diamond, No Presents For Christmas.

Notes — Normally we're on the slopes on Christmas Day, the perfect day to go as everyone else is home. But we just don't have the snow. Sure, the local resorts are open, making snow as fast as they can to keep a few runs open, but that's just not enticing to us. So the lifting continues.
    - OP - Intensity Triples across. I'd like to put down that these were all smooth and steady, but I focused on my elbows during that last set since they were moving too much during the third set. That focus threw everything off and that last Triple would have looked to be a mess. They all went to lockout, though.
    - BP - Light sets across. All good.

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

    Rows L @ 3'
    65x5x2
    135x5
    185x3
    215x1 225x1
    235x5x3

Music — The Damned, New Rose; Minor Threat, Out Of Step; The Vandals, Anarchy Burger (Hold The Government); Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Love Comes In Spurts; Bad Brains, Re-Ignition; Agent Orange, Bloodstains.

    Notes
    - SQ - Intensity Triples across. Smooth, steady, and heavy. All good.
    - Rows - Light sets across. Mis-loaded that last warmup rep, but went with it. The work sets were heavy, but based on how explosive these were, I can still run +10lbs for awhile. All good.

Once I realized that that was my peak for 2023, I knew that a year-end mock-meet wasn't going to happen.

If it wasn't for my spreadsheet and keeping track of PRs at different set/rep ranges, I wouldn't have known about that one either. At least not without scrolling and scrolling and scrolling and...

Nothing going on here for NYE. There never is. My bride and I prefer to hang out in the house together, unless I happen to be at the gig, which I won't be this year. After living in Germany for several years and celebrating NY the way they do, everything pales in comparison. Here's an example, although our little village got quite a bit more carried away than this short clip. It would go on for hours.

We will share a glass or two of bubbly and carry on the tradition that we learned over there, watching Dinner For One. It's a great story that you just might appreciate. Don't worry about the German introduction, as the actors are British and the skit is in English. You might catch the gist of the story with the introduction, but just in case, here's a synopsis. Good stuff.

    Enjoy!

May your new year bring great good and great lifts. BTW Sully tells me that my slogan is the opposite of yours. He says I'm "Living to lift." I do enjoy it because I enjoy competing, mostly with myself.
