    Notes
    - HDL - Heavy set. Smooth and steady, with a bit of slowing down for the last two reps. All good.
    - SQ - Light sets across. Not light, but then again, I have been run down this week with allergies. I even considered moving this to tomorrow, but talked myself out of that. Then I considered dropping this to 1, then 2 sets, but stuck it out for the third. All good.

Very good weights being lifted in here. It must/might be allergies that are kicking my butt here lately too. Pretty tired of it coming and going over and over. You seem to be handling it very well with your lifting.

Are you getting any of that heat wave out your way?

Thanks Fred. It's beating me up, that's for sure. I get the lifts in, but after today's session and right after breakfast, I was down on the couch, out cold, for an hour or so. And that's after a full night's sleep. Typical allergies for me.

We're warm. Running 10-15° above normal for this time of year, so I'm starting to shift to morning sessions now, since the garage is still cool and it gives me the rest of the day to do what we want.

Hopefully you kick the allergies soon, Fred. Keep at it!

Music — Dream Academy, Life In A Northern Town; Southern Death Cult, Apache; Dalis Car, Dalis Car; Tones On Tail, Go!; Echo & The Bunnymen, The Game; Propaganda, Dr. Mabuse.

Notes — I had to cover a shift at the gig, so no morning session for me, so this was not the session that I wanted, late afternoon on this muggy, warmer than normal day (I actually had to drag a fan out into the garage for the first time, ever.) Plus, I'm in a bit of a rush to get it done before the wildfire smoke from Alberta makes its way here tonight. Blech. It's too early for that mess.
    - SQ - Heavy Triples across. And they were heavy. Each rep slowed more than the previous for each set, and the final rep of the final set was a fine grind. Not exquisite, not brutal, but fine. In other words, I had no concerns about not finishing that final set. All good.
    - PC - Heavy sets across. The muggy heat caught up to me. I was dragging through the warmups and the worksets. But I wasn't going to stop. Oddly enough, the sets went fine; I wonder if it was because I put the full-blast fan in the rack, pointed at my face. All good.

Music — RIP Andy Rourke — The Smiths, This Charming Man; The Smiths, Headmaster's Ritual; The Smiths, How Soon Is Now; The Smiths, Bigmouth Strikes Again; The Smiths, Sweet And Tender Hooligan; The Smiths, Hand In Glove.

    Notes
    - RP - Heavy set. Instead of trying DOH for the 335, I went straight into Hook, which was fine. For 385, the bar started peeling out of the hook pretty quickly and about midway between my knee and lockout, I put the bar back down while I still had some control. No need to bed a bar dropping it. Overall, everything felt good, so I wasn't concerned going into the workset. I just now know where my hook limit is today. The workset? Heavy, but smooth and steady. All good.
    - SQ - Light sets across. As usual, they didn't feel light. I even lost count on the second set, so that was either 5 or 6 reps (the last sure felt like 6). All good.

Those pulls are getting up there! Congrats!

I agree there's no reason to drop a bar on the supports. I don't use my spotter arms when doing high pulls as I made some pulling blocks. I just retired a bar that I had used for the first time almost 50 years ago so things will last if you take care of them.

    Thanks Fred.

The number is definitely getting bigger. But the nice thing is that even though I thought about this number, I had no doubt that it was going to go. Not even after that warmup slippage.

Blocks are a great idea. I may have to look into building some.

I'm not too worried about bending the bar with the safeties that I use for these pulls. The safeties are broad at 3" wide and are lined with thick UMHW plastic, so it's not like I'm dropping the bar on my normal round safeties with small points of contact. I imagine that it would take quite a bit to bend this TX Power Bar if dropped on those safeties, but why take a chance?
