Squat 275x5, 245x5x4
Power Cleans 135x3x5
Good choice switching the squat to intermediate on this one, I think. 275x5 wasn't going to happen for continued sets. Hopefully this is a good enough start weight for the switch. Hopefully with a light squat workout on friday I'll catch up on recovery with these. Started off fairly light with the cleans too. It was enough to be a challenge, not enough to be a limit set.

Another underestimated need to back the weight off. Really disappointing. I thought "two steps back" from my last 5 rep intensity set would be enough. After the failed top set, I calculated the backoffs using 145 instead, and that worked. The bench was doable, but still felt hard. I think I might need to move the light day offsets on the two pressing movements to a full 20% drop, instead of just 10% like I've done so far. Next week I'll go for 230x5 on my bench and 145x5 for my press. Hopefully those will work out okay without constituting a very slow grind toward the end.

Backed off the deadlift by 10 from the last PR, and it actually went ok, surprisingly. The two step worked here. Not so much for the presses. Next week I'm going to switch the light day offsets to 20% for those. It seems to have gone well for the squat, though I won't really know until next Tuesday.

This was a nasty one. I only had 3 hours of sleep or so the night before thanks to a new bed I was gifted not working out so great. I knew it was gonna be nasty, wasn't sure I'd make it through, but I did it. Lowered the power cleans' volume since I'm just doing this for light pulling, and in the interest of shortened workouts.

Hard deadlift top set. Not sure if I need to have backed this off a bit more. It doesn't seem like I'm gonna get a lot more up out of this.

Man, I dunno when it happened, but bench really has started to feel like a heavy stressor, leaving me almost as winded as a set of squats. Pulldowns are getting harder, but still managed it.

Squats feel awful as always. I just don't think these are ever gonna get smoother, just heavier. It really sucks not having good AC in the gym though, so much heat from these.
