I think I mighty try doing the deadlifts first next time, before the light squats. I think they might be eating into the deadlift. I didn't like a lot of my reps on the deadlift set, felt like they were hitting this weird sticking point right before lockout. Doing some lighter volume deadlifting instead of power cleaning seemed to work out well for me in the past, so I think I will try that again next week. I might just not have a powerful enough clean to really constitute enough stress.

Decided to take another 5 pounder on the bench, beyond what I'd originally intended. Not too much grind, but future workouts will be 2.5 pound jumps. Press will also be moved down to 1 pound jumps, and I'll be using the 2.0 hip movement. I've been strict pressing up until now. Hopefully the slower pace and the extra bounce out of the bottom will let me continue to make progress even though I'm doing this in a fatigued state after benching. Bike felt surprisingly good. Hopefully this means squatting tomorrow will feel less draining.

Abbreviated workout today, gym closed early and I wasn't able to find the hours online beforehand. Only had under an hour to lift in, so I focused on the important shit. Got my heavy deadlift, and 2 light squat sets. 3 wasn't in the cards, not enough time. Didn't even have time to do any warmups for them, which was definitely less than ideal. Deadlift felt weird as hell, but it was probably the bent bar I was stuck using. It rolled in my hands a bit as it came up from the ground. In the moment I was worried I wasn't doing my hook grip right, but I think it was just the bent bar wanting to realign when it came up from the ground.

Tried flipping the order of the lifts today. Press definitely went up a lot smoother, but the bench I feel was held back a tiny bit. Still made all my reps, but I went from being sure I had more in the tank on every set to not being so sure, especially at the very end. I don't think I could've pulled off a 6th rep on set 3. Changed the bike setup to the tabata interval, 20 seconds on with 10 seconds off. I'm going to work these up and then start adding more intervals. This will let me get in more work while still not taking too long.

Squat keeps on moving along. Getting a little bit harder each time. Went as far as a 7 minute rest before the third set, 6 for the second. Probably 7 for both next time. Light deadlifts were fine. Pulldowns I did a repeat workout since I missed doing them last Friday.

Bench was a real struggle again. I will probably manage to grind out all my reps with 225 next week, but I don't think I'll make it to 235 before needing to reset or make some other programming change. Press got a little slowed up toward the end too. Been trying to up the eating this week. I'd been leaving the white rice out of my breakfast eggs since it was making them take too long to eat, but I think I'll bring that back. Bike was a bit hard, I think I'll keep it at 17 for all of next week.

Left out the pulldowns today. I think I am going to try a bit of a restructure again. When I did volume deadlifting the last time, I was working with much lighter squat weights and babying my knee. Think the back might be getting taxed too much by the heavier squatting. Pulldowns will be only on tuesday next week, along with power cleans instead of the volume deadlifts. Friday will be heavy deadlifts with an added back off. Maybe try 2. Also, I'm going to try dropping the bike for next week. I think it might be overdoing my legs for the week. I'll see if ditching it has a noticeable negative or positive impact. Might not be the best idea to introduce two changes in one week, but they are both to reduce stress in similar movements.

Press felt great today. Eager to get to 140 on thursday. Bench was pretty damn hard. I was right that I'd make this weight, but that very last rep of the last set was pushing it. I might actually start moving my bench up to 5 minute rest intervals to see if I can get a little more progress out of them. No bike today. Let's see how shitty I feel after the squat sets tomorrow.
