    I am going to start a new log.

    I have been here before, a long time ago. After some very challenging times, life, health, all that, I'm back training again.

    I am male, 61 years old, 6'0', current bodyweight 240 lbs.

    Life went sideways and so did I. At my worst, after being severely ill for quite a while and injured badly, I was up to 288 lbs. I found myself being Sully's Sick Aging Phenotype. I started working on that by losing a lot of weight.

    On 6 September 2024, I left Island Park, Idaho driving a 26 foot U-Haul and moved back to my hometown, Jena, LA.

    I started training again on 25 September 2024 making a run on SSNLP.

    I'm posting in the Intermediate Section because I am transitioning my Squats and Deadlift to Intermediate Programming so I am no longer doing "The Program."

    For completeness, I will post my training log in the next few posts. When I started this training, I was 60.

    I had been primarily going by the scale and how my pants fit up until this point. It got to where my pants were all loose and this is really no way to quantify that. My belt doesn't have holes in it, so I couldn't go by that. It wasn't real hard to look in the mirror while brushing my teeth and say, "Dude, you're still a fat ass. Keep getting under the bar."

    I was unable to find my tape measure after the move. I reckon it's still at my Idaho house. We kept our house up there in the mountains. I went and bought a tape measure.

    That was probably one of my most epic fails on that set of squats. I felt good, I was well rested, I was confident.

    The first rep went all right, the second started getting harder. The third slowed down. The fourth was a real grind. I went back down for the fifth rep and started back up. Never made it. On the video it looks like I gave up, but it just stapled me.

    Having been here before, I knew it was coming. I had just hoped that it would take a little longer.

    After I failed the deadlift on Workout 35, I made some adjustments to try to extend the SSNLP..

    I'm not going to go into the ubergrind to eke out a few more pounds on LP. I decided that I would reset and then transition my squats and deadlift to intermediate progression. Meanwhile I will keep my upper body lifts on linear progression as far as I can take them.
