    Default Disc Herniation and press

    • starting strength seminar april 2024
    • starting strength seminar jume 2024
    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    my uncle have a disc herniation in the c1-c2-c3 vertebra.
    he does not have experience in lifting weights, would you suggest him to do?
    will the press and the deadlift help in this situation?

    The simple answer is: no. Lifting, itself, will not make the disc herniation better. It will, however, make him stronger, reduce and in some cases recover some of the effects of aging, will help to prevent Type II Diabetes, and other positive health effects. Those should be considered when deciding if he wishes to train or not.
