Pain in knee during RDLs
6’1”, 220#, 51 years old, male, SS since 2014, “self-sufficient lifter”, no prior knee injuries or surgeries.
I use Romanian Deadlifts after Squats for assistance / (accessory?). I have no knee pain during Deadlifts, Rack Pulls, Haltings, or Squats. Last two workouts I’ve had pain in my right knee during RDLs when “heavy”. Sharp pain so I stop (having done 135x10, 185x8, 205x6 was a no go).
Two questions: 1) is bad form possibly causing pain and if so how/why/what adjustments? And 2) What other accessory movement recommended to go with Squats until I figure this out. DLs?
Thank you.

Something isn't quite right with something.

And 2) What other accessory movement recommended to go with Squats until I figure this out. DLs?Depends on the goal. There is a plethora of assistance exercises for the squat. Paused squats, Anderson squats, pin squats, tempo squats....etc.

Thanks. I felt a twinge again on Friday with Barbell Rows. I think I’ll rotate out Rows in favor of Press for assistance to Bench for a month or two. Still thinking through my RDL swap out. I had used them for back rehab to great effect. Time to make an adjustment.
