Unhappy Too late for Starr rehab?

    Hello all,
Injured my hamstring 2 weeks and 1 day ago sumo deadlifting a one rep max. I heard a pop and immediate sharp pain. It took about 3 days before I could walk pain free. There was no bruising. I still feel a dull ache and some tenderness. I learned about the Starr rehab protocol just today and I started it, but I'm not sure if it's already too late for that. My strength doesn't feel like it's taken a hit, since I was able to do some working sets of good mornings last week. I had been doing sets of 25 of banded good mornings here and there, which felt pretty good. Should I continue with the Starr rehab protocol? How should I proceed?

If there’s no bruising, there’s no muscle belly tear, which is what the Starr protocol addresses. This is some other type of injury.

What else would it be if I heard a pop and its tender exactly where I felt it initially hurt? Is it just a strain rather than a tear?
