I’m not a coach, but your squats are high. Also, I think the bar is high and your elbows are cranked way up. By all means, the coaches suggestion should prevail, but in my opinion, you need to lower the bar a bit, and you need to squeeze your shoulder blades together as tightly as you possibly can. If you feel the bar sinking into your upper back when lifting off, you’re not doing it right. A tight upper back will greatly reduce your chances of having a shitty, wiggly lower back. Shitty, wiggly lower backs make for painful injuries.
Finally, on the descent, stop worrying about depth and just drop until you feel the bounce out of the bottom.
