I recently started doing the power snatch as I have a bulging disk in my neck that gets pissed off on racking the clean. I started snatching about a month ago but only light to learn the technique. The last two weeks I added enough weight to get some resistance then added 5lbs as I went along. I started noticing pain on the thumb side of my elbow and down to my outside and ring finger. My main symptom is my thumb just doesn’t work, it’s very uncoordinated and weak. I was wondering if this is common with the snatch, because I am thinking that’s how I did it. Also, is there any new treatment protocols for it, or should I stick with the splint and not doing what pisses it off?

The "thumb side" of your elbow? Please clarify.

Lateral side, judging from the photos I googled.

Tennis elbow, lateral epicondylitis. You're trying to snatch the bar with active wrist extension. See my power snatch videos for the correct way to do the movement.

Thanks rip. On top of fixing my grip, is the pinfiring method the route to go to regain function in my hands?
