    That's fair - I realize I totally set myself up for this. I'm not saying I'm dying here and if the answer is to suck it up, then I will. But I was more curious if anyone else has run into the same thing or there is a form issue at play (ie are the scabs "in the right place" you would expect with a proper low bar squat.

    I do have a fairly wide grip so this could be the case. I will try gripping a bit closer together and see if that helps.

    I think the main issue with the scabbing is that it indicates the bar is not being secured properly, no? Not mainly about being a wuss regarding the abrasion

    Closer to "getting weird looks at the gym because I'm bleeding on the gear" than to fatal levels of blood loss, if I had to estimate.
