Annular tear in lowest disc
Hello,
My dad (65) recently injured himself doing yard work. The surgeon has told him he has an annular tear in his lowest disc and that he will never be able to lift again.
The surgeon told him all he will be doing is basically "core work" for the rest of his life.
He hasn't been lifting for a long time at this point but be is very down about this. At one point in his life he was a really strong guy with a 661 deadlift.
So my question is: will my dad actually be able to lift again? Is the surgeon a quack? Has anyone on here dealt with this kind of injury before?
Cheers
