Elbow snap sound and progressive debilitation during bench press
Hello! First time post. I hope my question is pertinent.
My left elbow (from my undexterous arm) snaps/pops and produces general discomfort in my whole arm (light pain, involuntary finger movement, numbness, and weakness) when I produce a general push movement from full range of motion. What do I mean? Let me explain.
I can capture the sensation during the descent of my bench press. When the bar is down, and by the time I'm just starting to push upward, my elbow pops. It is prominent at full range of motion. After 2 sets, my arm feels generally weaker or numb.
What I'm doing is benching with an wide grip which I think reduces the extension and this way my elbow does not snap or snaps at a minimum. Nonetheless, I feel I'm not getting stronger this way.
What is the right way to deal with this problem? Is this permanent? I'm not sure if Its relevant, but I'm 23 years old.
P.S. I believe this to be a negative effect of doing weighted ring dips for years. It started popping on this period, but I didn't give a fuck because I didn't feel anything at the moment and I was doing the correct technique in the books.
