New to SS program as of ~2 months ago. I have some very sharp (right) shoulder pain that is only truly painful when attempting pull/chin ups. I otherwise experience mild ambient pain when reaching or rotating the shoulder, but hardly worthy of being called pain. And there's no issue with the left shoulder, nor with my neck as many other posters seem to experience. I'm just curious what part of the shoulder is most likely to give this symptom--did some searching around, but nothing concrete.
I'll add that, 2 days prior to noticing the injury, I attempted my first 1RM deadlift at a very high weight for me, and it wasn't until 2 days later I attempted a pull-up and had to drop down before completing a single rep because the pain was so intense. I do experience moderate pain in that shoulder when deadlifting so I've paused til I verify what is going on, but it's the chin-up that really triggers the excruciating pain and makes me think something is very wrong with it. No problems deadhanging, it's only when I start to pull myself up that it starts to flame.
Hope this wasn't talked about elsewhere as I did search around the forum a good deal.
It's probably a lat injury, but I can't tell from here. Get it checked.
