Post Umbilical Hernia Recovery Ppan
Good Morning - I had surgery 2 weeks ago to repair a medium sized umbilical hernia. Recovery was worse than the surgery but think I’ve turned the corner on that. Surgeon is stating 2-3 months of no lifting recovery but I’d like to be as proactive as possible. I made a lot of gains in 2024 and was very proud of my progress, but since injury in November I’ve already lost 20lbs. Can anyone recommend a more proactive, safe recovery plan so as I can incorporate heavy lifting in my daily again. I’m 55 years old, 237lb nut with some additional lbs to lose. I don’t want a repeat incident down the line. Thanks!!

For what it’s worth, I had umbilical hernia repair over a yr ago, also had gall bladder removed at same time. I started really light at 4-5 weeks, by wks 8-9 I was back at pre-op weights. Also made sure I wore a belt throughout all workouts, I turned it around so buckle was at the back so flat even belt at front. 57 at the time.
