Wait - Really? That's a shame. I would have thought that some sort of licensing fee would have to be paid for other people to use your name to sell a product... Or, do you just mean that you don't get paid per sale?

I mean, doing everything I can to support the author of these books and generous maintainer of these discussion boards is definitely in the mix of reasons I'd be interested in these shoes vs their nearest competitors.

I'm not in the equipment business. I asked Bill to make you guys a shoe with a lower heel. Believe me, he earns the billions of dollars these shoes generate.

Neoprene soles? I have never heard of this, and i thought i was something of a shoe expert.

Neoprene, as in the same soft squishy stuff worn whilst scuba diving?

I thought the only thing they can replace shoe sole with are leather and rubber. Is the neoprene widely available? Or do you have to go to some kind of specialist?

It is a dense brown rubber, the most commonly available replacement rubber sole.

I just received my pair. I'm a 11 in Saucony running shoes and I wear a 10.5, but believe I fit in a 10 for Converse Allstars. All my other shoes are between a 10 and 11. I bought a 10.5 in the Rips and they seem to fit fine and sturdy. I'll try a workout in them tomorrow though!

    Well,

I've used them for almost two weeks now, when I first snatched and C+J in them I did alot of jumping back and losing some weights behind me (maybe it was the lower heel than my old Addidas lifting shoes, maybe it was the fact that every year at this time my lifting goes down the toilet as I'm coaching football here in Texas and about midseason I've lost 10-15lbs and feel whipped?), but I think I've found a solid shoe thats going to hold up for awhile...

I will say they feel very solid and they fit my feet PERFECT (got my same size as my tennis shoe, I had New Balance 10.5 and my Addidas were 10.5 too), they feel great on my squats-I feel a little stiff/sore(?) when I'm done in my low back (again see above, could be I'm just tired and technique is off?)....

I asked Gary Valentine what he thought of the lower heel (National Masters Olift champ still C+J 350 at age 50), he said its a trade off to him, lower heel for a better pull but harder to stay upright in the catch position-I told him my start is the weak part for me and anything I catch I can stand up with (I can tell as soon as I get the bar to my knee if its going to be a good lift or not just by my start), so I'm hoping as I get to the end of football and start to get my weight back the the pull gets much much stronger....

    Thanks for the help Rip,
    John Janecek
