    Hey Rip,

I posted this in the Technique forum and one person felt these were touch and go style. I hadn't thought about it, and I felt I was pausing enough at the bottom, but what do you think? Also, I am training for strongman, would you suggest I change my pacing?

    Thanks!

P.S. - skip to :50 for the set, sorry for the lack of editing

You think this is pausing at the bottom? Have you actually looked at this video?

I had been basing my idea of touch and go on the rapid paced CrossFit style, I had no clue before taping this yesterday that I was actually doing touch and go reps. It felt like I was pausing, just like it felt like the 11th rep was a lot slower than the rest when it really wasn't. In terms of my goal being strongman though, do you see anything wrong with using touch and go like this?

They're just fine if you never intend to actually get strong with the technique required to do a heavy first rep. Here's a test: do this weight with an honest reset at the bottom -- take your breath at the bottom, not the top -- and let's see how many you do. This will tell you what you need to know.

Thanks Rip, I'll give that a go next DL session.
