    • starting strength seminar april 2024
    • starting strength seminar jume 2024
    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    if i want to avoid powercleans, is this what i should basically be doing?

    Workout A:


    Squats 3x5
    Bench Press 3x5
    Deadlift 1x5




    Workout B:
    Squats:3x5
    Overhead Press 3x5
    Chinups 3 sets of failure
    Back extensions 3 x 10 (weighted?)

    How old are you, and are you injured in some significant way?

    lol, im 18. no im not injured but my left knee starts feeling weird/little pain when i straighten my left leg if i exert too much on it, or else its fine.

    I'm not here to help you figure out a way to not do your cleans.

    Sweet Jesus.

    Power cleans are fun. Oly lifts are the most interesting thing I do as part of my training. That, and muscleups.

    I'm self taught. You can do it too. It just takes longer without a coach to cue you constantly.

    Yeah as a novice too I've found them easier to learn than squats, just using the book. To avoid over-complicating things, I just read the first bit of the power cleans chapter and learned the hang cleans first, then took it from there.

    They're the most enjoyable part of the program and will help you apply the strength you gain to whatever sports you do.
