Ask your doctor. He seems to know about this barbell training thing.
I have a broken toe (pinky toe at that) and my doctor has given me the greenlight on all exercises that I have listed (Squat, DL, Press, Bench Press)while specifically forbidding PC's and Snatches as well as running.
At this early stage of the program (Starting Strength novice 3rd week) would it be optimal to set my DL days as Mon and Friday every week or keep to the A/B schedule and get one fewer day every two weeks of training, or should I sub in rows for PC's.

I don't know! Why is everybody asking me this shit?? Ask Brandon's doctor.
Good coaching is expensive.
Bad coaching can be way more expensive.
I broke my middle toe a few months back and continued with the power cleans. Now I have leprosy and my mother is a nazi.
Is it just me, or am I the only one who is slightly impressed that his doctor even approved him to do Squats, Deadlifts, Bench, and Press?...every other doctor I have ever known has tried to steer everyone clear of barbell training. According to most doctors I've been around, barbell training is on the same level as being a meth addict, or a professional stuntman in the fact that it absolutely destroys your body. You train with heavy weights, you will be crippled by the time you are 40.
As for the original poster, God forbid your doctor allows you to suffer through a little pain while your pinkie toe is healing. Do you know all the possible health implications if you don't let it heal properly? Why not try taping your broken toe to the adjacent toe to keep you from moving it too much?
With all do respect, My question was not "Excuse me how much of a pussy am I for not doing power cleans on a broken toe" it was "how can I optimally continue gaining during a brief period where a lawful order prevents me from performing an exercise".
I do appreciate the jest, and know full well how small an inconvenience a broken toe is.
Thanks Guys
