Christmas Training/Gym Closures

Have you considered any nearby university gyms as an alternative? From my experience they're often cheap, I pay only thirty pounds a year! They also don't tend to close during Christmas as most of the Asian students don't go home.

@IlPrincipeBrutto: Precisely why I said "any chance" instead of just "get a key". Probably the worst-case result (and it's likely) is that he doesn't get in, just like now. Then again, sometimes one locates a crack in a supposedly impenetrable wall of policy by asking the right person at the right time. Perhaps volunteer to vacuum or something...

@GregC: 100% agreed -- when I drive by the gyms in town that are closed early on weekends or holidays (or when the owner had some other appointment), I am SO glad to have a home gym (including power rack so you won't see my post-bench-press-to-neck obituary).
