    Hi

I知 thinking about building a gym/shed. I知 planning on a 9 m2 ground area but I知 not sure about the height and to avoid any mistake though I would ask, what would be a good height from the ground/platform to the ceiling?

    Thanks

I'm 186 cm / 6' 1" and I'm too tall to lock out a standing press if I have standard 450 mm diameter plates on the bar with a standard Norwegian ceiling height (240 cm / 7' 10").

Then I guess you'd better make the ceiling high enough to do a standing press with 45cm plates on the bar.

I would suggest 10' if you have any ambitions beyond the basic barbell movements. You might want to put in a pullup bar and you might want to do a muscleup on that bar.

    Just something to consider.

    I'm 185cm

The shed I'm looking at comes in 2.4, 2.7 and 3 m heights.

would 2.7m be enought? or should i spend the money and go 3m?

    Cheers

I am 6'4.5" - 194,5cm with an wingspan of 6'6.5" - 199,5cm, and I can touch my ceiling with my clenched fists on my 2.4m roof. A standard plate is 45cm in diameter, half of that is 22,5cm so I would need a ceiling of ~262cm for a regular press.

Unless you have REALLY long arms a 2,7m roof should work.

I think he should buy the 2.4m one then dig down 0.6m. Everyone knows digging is good exercise.

Dammit, I need this information: how much kroner (?) per cm of ceiling height does it cost in Norway? Without this information, how can I make these complicated decisions for the OP???
