    Default Why do I suck at the bench?

    After a horrendous bench workout this evening I decided to flip to very first page of my training log. On Feb 13, 2010 I benched 215 for 3x5 and presently I'm incapable of benching anything more than 230 for 3x5. Why can't I make any kind of meaningful progress on this lift? My other lifts seem to progress slowly but consistently. A few months ago I picked up some micro plates but using them hasn't translated to any real progress. With almost 2yrs of lifting behind me Im pretty embarrassed to say that my 5rm isn't even 10lbs heavier than my bodyweight.

    Weight: 225
    BF%: Not sure but Id say high teens or low twenties.
    Height: 6'2"
    Squat: 5rm 410lbs
    Dead: 5rm 425lbs
    Press: 4rm 180lbs
    Bench: 2rm 247.5lbs
    PC: 3rm 220lbs

    Transcribe, rep-for-rep, set-for-set, your last 5 workouts on the bench, including rest between sets.
