I wonder if you have any recommendations for my father who just began starting strength. He was diagnosed with Spondylolysis and i guess that is a stress fracture that's is in his fifth lumbar(goggle may explain better). He has been doing starting strength for about 8 weeks and seemed to be progressing pretty well but just tonight he felt a pop in his back while doing squats causing him some pain. He has felt this pop before and the doc told him to start doing core strength training exercise which he started about 4 weeks before he started ss. However, after beginning ss he said the the pain is allot less. In the mornings he does some core back body weight exercises and rides a road bike trainer for 30 minutes 2 time a week. He is also an avid cyclist and rides when time allow up 50 miles per ride. Let me know if he should continue ss with this condition.

    he is 53
    5 ft 7in

    his lifts are

    squat 215 by 5
    dead lift 205 by 5
    bench 180 by 5
    p-lift 90 by 5
    ohp 105 by 5
