Looks like she has the basics of hip drive down pretty well. Working with a 55-year old eating disorder patient is tricky, and not something I would deal with absent more info. Call me next week and we'll talk about this.
Rip,
Dr. Sullivan's talk reminded me of an upcoming situation I hope I can get some help with.
My Mom is 55yo and has suffered for a long long time from an eating disorder. I can think of no person who would benefit more from resistance training and obviously more food. She visited for a couple months to shop for a house in the area I live and I convinced her to give the barbell a try. I'm a pretty poor coach but I'm very happy with the little progress she made in the short time she was here. I had to compromise often to keep her comfortable and interested - here is a clip of her squatting 30lb with a towel wrapped around the bar and a hoodie. She was well below parallel on sets under 30lbs but obviously high here.

She went home to sell her home and her and my Dad will be moving here this next week. I'd love to get her started again and hope to do a better job than before. I have many questions but the most important initially I guess is how to program for someone in her situation. I had her doing 3 days/week with 3 sets of 5 for squats and presses and 1 set for deadlifts with 5lb jumps for squats and deads and only 2.5 for presses and bench. She stalled or had some sudden major form failure at about 30lbs for all lifts and that was right about the time she went home.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Colin
