I did was Speed work with deads to day...Only with 135x10 and 185x5.. Not much weight. not belted..

The Pain didn't feel like muscle pain. I only felt it at lockout. Right at the base of my spine. I worked through it for a few reps. But switched back the next set and belted on the last 3 sets.

When I pull normal the pain isn't there. I finished the workout with 405 for 8 reps.

Sets of 10 and 5 aren't speed work. I think you were letting your form get sloppy and hyperextending your back at the lockout due to the emphasis on speed with such a light weight.

Accelerate light weight to full speed just to stop suddenly at lockout. Can this stuff be useful at all ? And 135??? WTF ?

Your the 2nd who had the same thought. I was resetting every rep, but that doesn't mean my foam slacked some.. Next time I'll try to watch that...

    I was watching this Video..
Not an EliteFTS video, you fool. Your video.

2nd one to suggest the hyperexending as well. Also was told a 500lb deadlifter should be around 300lb speed work.... I may have not been warmed up well enough as I was only on my 2-3rd set of deadlifts. So I'm thinking the combination of having too light of weight, focusing on the speed to much (Form loss), not being warmed up enough...... Played a role in it.... Went to the Chiropractor and he worked his magic.. Said it's not mucsle and more in likely joint pain. He cracked me every which way and said no Deads for 3 days and should be golden.

Why are you not doing power cleans instead of DE deadlifts?

That's why most powerlifters use bands or chains during speed deadlifts.

Not sure, haven't done them since high school. They would be a good alternative, makes since.. Didn't think of those.
