...and breaks the 110kg all-time total record at 1002.5kg at the meet.

To make it relevant for the forums, just take a look at that hip-drive and the direction of his gaze

Nice squat by Dan. But since you posted it in Q&A, I assume you want to discuss something, since this is not a powerlifting results board. Raw here means Monolift/no walk-out and wraps. Any info on the singlet material? Notice the bar speed drop when he tries to lift his chest and his knees drop forward just a tiny bit. Very instructive. I hope Dan will not be mad at us, because he is a great lifter and I respect that.

I was there, awesome meet. He missed the 380 dead the first time, then came back and nailed it, unbelievable.

Raw in this fed is including wraps, no suit.

The singlet is definitely a normal singlet that gives absolutely no support. Mine is the same brand (Titan).

Dan is a fantastic lifter; he's been called this generation's Ed Coan.

Monolifts. Ruined the sport more than any other equipment.

Monolifts really aren't a big deal for raw or raw+wraps. Those guys can all walk their squats out, unless they are squatting with a really wide stance. Does this still give them a very small competitive advantage, sure. You use less energy before you squat. Would these guys (with moderate to narrow stances) still do the same thing walking them out, probably.

The monolift really helps for multi-ply squatters using a very wide stance. Then I can see it being a huge advantage.

As for the speed drop, part of that is probably the knee wraps too.

Piggybacking on this thread, Malanichev just hit 440kgx3:

I'm beginning to think I'm a "hater." I see someone squat 3.5x their body weight, and my first thought is "get your thumb out from under the bar."

How do I fix this and become a normal, well adjusted, non-Haterade sipping person?

Default Malanichev and the hip drive

I know you mentioned in another thread that this wasn't a PL results forum, but I simply find this absolutely impressive. I can't think of another lifter that better exemplifies hip drive, despite the fact that he looks forward when he squats. Bar speed just makes my jaw drop too. That's just a crazy triple.

I'm not a competitor. Can someone explain what this means for me?
